Allot of AI stuff going on then wich sometimes bogs the game down a bit. The only exception to this is probably when endgame crisis or war in heaven is happening. Unless you're using mods to add more ships in and the like, the lag shouldn't be all that bad. Some people don't like PvP as you were and might only allow attacking AI empires while others are all for open wars and no rules. Don't stall and ask for pauses if you don't need them would be the main one. If that person eventually comes back to play their empire they will often find that they now have 2x more ships then their cap allows and their economy will be in shambles. It does cheat though as in it uses more resources then it has. We play on large and running the game on fast speed, it takes us about 3 to 4 days to really start looking at the endgame. I only really play with some of my friends though so not sure how active the public lobbies are.ī- Depends on galaxy size really.
